minitrail picThe annual goods and services auction to be held at the Mini Trail Community Center on May 21st is the major annual fundraiser for our community.  Since the former school became a community center, the volunteers who have served from the past to the current board of directors have worked tirelessly to make this center a great place to meet.  The auction is a fun and very social event – there is something there for everyone.  Board members and volunteers canvas the community businesses who have always been so generous in supporting this event and the members of the community and beyond donate items as well as cash donations.

The object is to raise the funds required to run the centre for a full year and each year we have been successful in doing just that. Yvette MacDonald is the auctioneer – there are as many as 200 items to auction and she proceeds quickly throughout the afternoon – there are often bidding wars among the attendees for sought after items.  Each year the items change and each year the crowd gets larger. The canteen is open throughout the afternoon where you can purchase great homemade items and sandwiches (including lobster).  50/50 tickets will be sold, the draw will be at end of auction and the winning ticket holder needs to be there to collect

A sampling of the items donated this year include numerous batches of lobsters donated by local fishermen, dinners provided by community members who excel in their cooking skills,  perennials, gift certificates to local restaurants, gardening items, welding,  loads of gravel, and much more!   Plan to attend – the viewing begins at 12:00 noon and the auction starts promptly at 1:00 pm.  Admission is free and again this year, win your item for free!  We will be having three draws throughout the day and the lucky purchasers of those three items will pay no money!

If you wish to donate to our community auction, please contact any one of our board members, income tax receipts will be issued:
