The Antigonish Winter Market is back for the 4th year in a row and will commence on January 27th, 2018.

The market will be opened in a new location more central location this year being 75 St. Ninian Street; the former National Philatelic Centre and soon to be home of the Antigonish Canadian Association for Community Living and Royal Canadian Legion Arras Branch 59.

“We’re excited about a bigger space, more parking (huge parking lot at the back of the building), more foot traffic likely to go by, traffic driving by & free Wifi. As always we have a high interest from vendors with approximately 60 expressing a desire to be part of the market. We are hoping to be able to accommodate close to 50 vendors per week.

“We’ll have vegetables, baked goods, jewelry, non-toxic wooden toys, natural

care products, stained-glass, honey, photography, revamped clothing and so much more.  We also have quite a few new vendors this year that are interested. We have vendors coming from Cheticamp to New Glasgow.  We are very lucky to have such talented vendors.  We are once again full for vendors and have a waiting list.

On-site food vendors will be a weekly attraction and the bigger space at the location will allow for a comfortable sitting area while a customer enjoys his or her food.

They will also be able to do so while listening to live music; the new space will accommodate weekly entertainers as well. We have great musicians lined up, Set Free, Tyrus Wallace, The Broussard Family, Mary Beth Carty, Shane Arsenault & the MacLeod School of Highland Dance.  It’s a great place to socialize on Saturday mornings.

We will also have a community table each week.   Due to space restrictions we were not able to have a community table last year so we’re very happy to have that back.

The Winter Market will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and run until the end of April.
